On the third day of the cold month of Esfand in the year 1390 (February 2012), we planted the sprout of Varta with a world of love, hope, and enthusiasm… with young, motivated, and ready-to-fight hands… in the heart of this land. We even chose its name together… with democracy… with companionship and empathy…
Ms. Sanaz Salmasian, one of our first companions, who is now the vice chairman of the company’s board of directors, suggested the name.
And, of course, she took home the prize…
Varta is the name of a lady in mythology who is said to be the first female philosopher in Iran and one of the first democracy theorists in the world. She was known for her wisdom, knowledge, and talent… Historians of the East considered her a reference for knowledge in the world during her lifetime, and people came from all over the world to learn from her. Her birthplace and final resting place are in the present-day region of Khorasan.
Whether it’s a myth or reality, we all agreed on naming this new sprout Varta, and we also chose a good family name for it, Nik, to remind us of our efforts, performance, and identity. We wanted to remember that every step we take, whether in production, distribution, services, or anything else, must be done with goodness.
And Varta Nik has a continuation… Avand!
Since we initially started by distributing specialized medical equipment, such as Avand (meaning “vessel” or “conduit” in Persian), which delivers treatment tools to our entire land of Iran, Avand became our surname, and thus we were named:”
VartaNikAvand

“Every year on the third day of Esfand (February 22nd), we celebrate the birthday of Varta with gratitude for its existence and growth. We strive, with the help of God and your companionship, to leave a good name for ourselves and to make the most of this opportunity to serve, and we consider it a valuable privilege.
